Jon Lester
In today's sports world we are blessed with varrying degrees of individuals. I say individuals because we rarely see any body today who is a true team player. Maybe a Peyton Manning, and that is only the fact because he said he would give up some of his salary to keep the team in tact, but even that is misconstrued because he easily would make that money up from endorsement deals( CUT THAT MEAT!). In a sports world full of liars, cheaters, wrong doers, horrible people, and dog murderers its really good to see an exceptional story every now and then. I think Jon Lester's story is one of those. About a year ago he was diagnosed with cancer, he's 23, and had to take time off during what was a very impressive rookie season. He is the only left handed starter on the Red Sox in like a hundred years or something, and it was just sad to see something happen to someone with such a promising career ahead. Jon Lester didnt give up, he didnt quit, he never said I cant do it. He quietly worked himself back making sure not to over work himself and made sure he was 100%. Now we are here July 23, 2007 and he is back. Jon Lester will make his first start tonight in almost a year. Regardless if he pitches a complete game or 3 pitches, if he gets a win, a loss, or a no decision, Jon Lester has already won. He has won not just because he has beaten cancer, but because he never gave up and knew one day he would be back. Thank you Jon Lester, you are my hero!

Vick
Ok so the Atlanta Falcons now get the distinction of being the dumbest sports franchise in American sports. Not only did they trade away the best QB on their roster(Matt Schaub) but now the guy who they wanted to build around and who is their QB Michael Vick is a dog murderer. I think I might be the only person who has watched Falcon games the last six years because I feel like Im the only one who thinks Michael Vick sucks! Matt Schaub was clearly the best QB on that team, and from reports I hear the only reason he wasnt playing was because of the strong love of black athletes in the south. Wow good job Falcons, stupid and racist.

Who's Now
Ok, so has everyone seen the who's now thing that ESPN has been doing? It is pretty interesting, yet I have a big beef with ESPN over the one that is going on right now. Roger Federer is the no. 4 seed and is competing against Tony Parker, er (if your a Jim Rome listener you get this) Eva's husband, which is the only reason he is on the list. Ok if Tiger Woods warrants a no. 1 seed, shouldnt RFed receive one too. Roger Federer is the most dominant person in not only his sport, but the most in his sport than anyone person is in their sport. He is Michael Jordan. If past superstars such as Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, and John McEnroe say he is the greatest ever, then he is the greatest ever. If ESPN truely wants to do a who's now they should just debate who is the greatest player reguardless of sport in the world. Its either Tiger or RFed. So anyone what is your thought who is the greatest. I personally think Federer is. Although it is extremely difficult to break 80 in golf, Tiger dominates and I have nothing but respect for him, yet Federer dominates in a sport where you actually have to be an athlete. You have to be in shape and be able to actually run in tennis. You cant be a fat slob (Jason Gore) and acutally win in tennis. So my vote goes to Federer. After all he is the Michael Jordan of tennis. Johnny Mac said so.

Derick Fisher Good Guy?
Ok, so for all of you who dont know the story let me fill you in. Derick Fisher's daughter had a rare cancer of the eye, he was with her when she had surgery and flew back to Utah in time to get into game 3 against the Warriors late in the 3rd. He had a decent game and was viewed as a hero because of what he had done. After the season the Jazz being the nice organization that they are, let him out of his contract so he could be with his family. Well, as it happens Mr. Fisher shows his great pleasure to the Jazz organization and the people of Utah by helping his family during this time of need, oh wait no he didnt do that, DFish instead turns around and signs with the Lakers a couple of days later. Great example you set man, way to be with your family and your daughter in time of need.

CFL
The Canadian Football League is amazing. When we can have football in the summer time, and when we can watch football where they just throw the ball all over the place, well its like heaven. I love the CFL.

Never too early.
Its never too early to start talking football. Training camp starts in two weeks and the first college games are the last week of August. So I want people's predictions. Give me your division winners and wild card teams, and rank your top five college teams. I guess I will start. NFC north- Bears, south- Saints, east- Eagles, west- Cards( I had to do it). Wild card teams, Panthers and 49ers, yep Im on the banwagon. AFC north- Ravens, south- Colts, east- Pats, west- Chargers. Wild card teams, Steelers and Bengals. Now for college. 1. um obviously, USC. 2. LSU. 3. Michigan. 4. Florida. 5. West Virginia.
My thoughts on Barry.
Ok, so I know the whole steroids ordeal that goes on with Barry Bonds in every single city he plays in. My question is why? This is the greatest player that any of us have ever seen. He is unbelievable, with out a doubt the greatest hitter to ever live. There has been no proof that he has taken anything. He has never tested positive for anything. And my guess is even if he has taken HGH, it wasnt even outlawed in baseball until last year, so how can we treat this man like this. There is nothing that will make me dislike Barry. He should be loved by all and treated with respect for he is innocent until proven guilty. Keep swinging Barry, Im on my feet applauding at every single at bat.
